Do you have rooms that are too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter? Do you have trouble balancing the temperature between upstairs and downstairs? If you answered yes to either of these questions, it is likely that you could be losing up to 40% of the air that you are paying for due to air leakage and inadequate insulation. A Home Performance Evaluation can help find solutions that will save you money and create a more energy efficient home.
A Home Performance Evaluation is not a Home Energy Audit. A Home Performance Evaluation will give you insight into your home's heating and cooling needs and help you to come up with solutions to increase the energy efficiency of your home.
The evaluation will include a thorough inspection of your home (Attic, Basement and Conditioned areas) to detect areas of air loss, and inadequate insulation. Your Home Performance Advisors will use a smoke pencil and a thermal imaging camera to help identify leaks in your attic, around doors, windows, ceiling lights, outlets, ducts, and other areas in your home. The advisor will also walk you through your home to give you recommendation on areas where you can improve its energy efficiency. Having an evaluation performed is the first step to creating a plan that will save you money on your utility bills and create a more comfortable home.
