A.B. May’s New Year’s Resolutions

Monday, December 30, 2013

Happy New Year from A.B. May! As we reflect on this past year, especially on all of those cookies we ate during the past couple of weeks, we may all have a few resolutions we want to make in 2014. Here are some ideas for resolutions to help you save money and live more efficiently.

  • Don't leave the water running - Turn the water off when brushing your teeth or scrubbing your face, then turn it back on again to rinse.
  • Leave a pitcher of water in the fridge so you do not have to let the faucet flow to wait for cold water.
  • Turn off lights
  • Take shorter showers. As much as you may love a long, hot shower try to shorten your shower time by a few minutes.
  • Turn the heat down. Lowering the heat by only a few degrees can also lower your utility bills. Try wearing a sweatshirt in order to save some money.
  • Keep the windows closed - open doors and windows allow the heated or cooled air to escape. When it is necessary to open one or the other, try to do it as quickly as possible.
