How A/C Works

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

Most homeowners take their air conditioners for granted--especially when they are operating at peak efficiency. However, a lot of work goes into cooling your home. Below are the parts of an air conditioner and how they work together to keep you comfortable.
Evaporator
The coils take the heat and humidity out of the air with refrigerant.
Blower
The blower moves cool air to the evaporator.
Condenser
The  condenser transports the heat to the great outdoors.
Compressor
The compressor transports refrigerant from the evaporator to the condenser. This helps cool indoor air.
Fan
A fan is responsible for blowing air over the condenser.
Filter
An air filter traps particles from the air.
Thermostat
The thermostat controls the temperature. It also makes sure that the temperature is evenly dispersed.
