What To Do If The Power Goes Out

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Power outages always seem to pop up at the most inconvenient times. While it is impossible to know when your home will experience an outage, you can be prepared for the occasion. Below are some tips on how to handle a power outage.

Power Lines

The cause of the power outage could be due to a downed power line. If you spot a downed power line in your neighborhood, do not touch it. Call the appropriate authorities to notify them of the situation.

Preventing Electrical Shock

When the power does come back on, it will power up all of your plugged in electronics at once. This can actually cause electric shock if you are touching an electronic appliance at that moment. To prevent this, unplug all electronic devices after the power goes out.
